Can I wash my car after a new paint job?
- Yes you may wash your car. Below are some recommendations to protect the early stages of your new repair:
• Wash the vehicle by hand with fresh cool water, apply only a very mild car detergent solution using a soft cloth or sponge.
• Do not use a commercial car wash.
• Do not use stiff brushes or sponges, they can mar the finish and damage the surface.
• Do not wax or polish the vehicle for 90 days. This will allow the finish to harden completely.
• Do not "dry wipe" your vehicle. This can scratch the finish.
• Try to avoid parking under trees and utility lines to avoid bird droppings and tree sap.
